SamDo we have a way to uninstall XLTools from the add-in it self. Some button or anything?
February 29, 2024 at 07:15
Peter LiapinHi Sam,

There is no such a feature that allows uninstallation directly from the add-in itself within Excel. However, you can uninstall XLTools like any other program through your computer's Control Panel or the Apps settings if you're using Windows 10.

For detailed guidance, visit the XLTools uninstallation guide: How to uninstall XLTools

Mark ProctorI have purchased the Calendar Toolkit but have the following problems. 1) After embedding into an xlsm it does not show on any system (x32/x64) 2) Code inserted into the xlsm is not Option Explicit compliant 3) Also is it possible to call the Calendar to show via VBA? 4) Can the calendar be shown on a UserForm?

Karu DonaldsonHow can we customize the add-in deployment to allow us to pre-configure 1. enable version control 2. set remote repositories eg github.com/org_name/repo1 based on string or filename perhaps? 3. Set the VCS function to auto push to a remote repository after a commit is made? If we have to configure the repo manually that's not really an issue but it would be nice if there were some XML type configuration we could customize? Also, it was noted that the git repository that is auto created, adds a subdirectory which becomes the new repository. Is there a way we can automate the "remote repository" on enabling VCS in the add-in or does this all have to be done manually at this point? Thanks

The following directions from the FAQ did not work, even after following them and restarting: "Open Excel > File > Options > Add-Ins > Select ‘Manage ‘Com Add-Ins’ on the bottom of the box > Go > Check the box ‘XLTools Add-in for Microsoft Excel’ > Ok. When I follow the directions, no option for "Check the box ‘XLTools Add-in for Microsoft Excel’" apppears. Also, there is no XLTools tab under customize ribbon. I tried the repair tool and it did not help. Thank you. gary.

AhmedHi, I have two questions. 1) "Execute Command" under XLTools > Automation is disabled. How to enable "Execute Command"? 2) Where to find "XLTools.SQLSelect command" in XLTools? XLTools version: 5.1.3.1921 Thanks, Ahmed
February 2, 2020 at 21:46
Maria BalobanovaHello Ahmed, Please take a look at the Automation feature guide. There you will find a tutorial file that explains how to create commands (including XLTools.SQLSelect). Once you've created the automation command in a table, select the range of the command - and the "Execute Command" button will become available.
February 3, 2020 at 09:30
AhmedThank you, Maria for your quick response. How to automate run SQL to get data (with XLTools.SQLSelect) and export it to csv file (XLTools.ExportToCSV) in one step on custom button? Do you have manual to check available options, parameters for using sql and exporting data to csv. Thanks Ahmed
February 8, 2020 at 21:20
Maria BalobanovaHi again, I have emailed you an example file. To summarize, here's what you can do: 1) Create XLTools.SQLSelect command. 2) Create XLTools.ExportToCSV command right below it. 3) Select the entire range of both commands and assign a single button. The tutorial here has examples and available parameters for automation commands. We are working on a more detailed guide.
February 11, 2020 at 10:37
AhmedThank you, Maria. Both solutions are working perfectly. I have few more questions: 1 - Is there any option to "execute command button" without opening excel or command line execution in windows? That will be the perfect solution for most of small scale data integration programs. 2 - Do you have example for export data to cloud based MySQL with "XLTools.ExportToMySQL"? 3 - Looking for examples for "XLTools.ApplyTemplate", "XLTools.ImportFromSendGrid" and XLTools.SaveSheetsAsFiles? Thanks in advance. Ahmed.
February 17, 2020 at 02:15
Maria BalobanovaHi Ahmed, 1. - no, at the moment there is now way to "execute commands" button without opening Excel. That's a good idea for future releases, thank you! 2. - here is an example of the “XLTools.ExportToMySQL” command. 3. - we have some examples here, and I have sent you an email with a sample file.

Jill FitzsimmonsGood Evening, I am trying at present to test this add in on the free trial before possibly extending to certain employees. When I enable the version contract and commit changes for a 2nd time, the error box is appearing with the following: An unknown error occurred: The directory is not empty. Could you advise what this is in relation too and also a way that committing changes can be done on more than one occasion to allow the show change log to work to monitor and maintain protection on updating spreadsheets.

Jaroslaw Hi, I try to commit file that is held in local network folder and I get this error: "An unknown error occured: Failed to rename lockfile to...". This doesn't happen with the copy of this file on my local drive. How should I proceed?

Are you referring to the Version Control feature? We'll need to take a closer look. I have sent you an email.

JeremyHi, I'm getting this error when trying to run a query: Execution Failed Unable to find an entry point named 'sqlite3_config' in DLL 'SQLite.Interop.dll'. Note: I've downloaded SQLite & confirmed the dll file - however I can't access it to confirm the config file. Please advise on how I can resolve this
October 12, 2018 at 17:44
Maria BalobanovaHi Jeremy, I assume you refer to our SQL Queries add-in. It does use SQLite language, but you do not have to install it (it's already configured in XLTools). However, it sounds like you want to connect to your SQL database and use XLTools to run queries on that data. Is this the case? Then sorry, the add-in works a bit different. XLTools SQL Queries add-in is meant to run queries in Excel and directly against data in your Excel tables. Hope you will find it useful for your tasks as well!

Jim ManzI installed XLTools on a computer where the logged in user does not have admin rights (had to provide an admin user password) and the XLTools plugin is nowhere to be found in Excel. It's not only not visible but also is not found under COM Add-in's in the manual enabling step. Does it have something to do with installing with a different user? Thanks, Jim
May 23, 2018 at 12:43
Maria BalobanovaHi Jim, like most add-ins of this type, XLTools requires administrator rights for installation. If you have several users on the same computer, XLTools should be installed for each of them separately.

Peter Cook Hi, I'm having an error when trying to 'commit changes' through 'version control' as per the following: "An unknown error occurred: Illegal charachters in path."  The file name is relatively clean with only letters and numbers, and have tried alternating spaces with '_'. File is ~20mb with multiple links, queries and connections. Please help Cheers, Peter

Hello Mik,

We do not have XLTools desktop version for Mac. It is only compatible with Windows. But you may find some of our online apps useful.

Joan I install xltool.net calendar but face problems to upload it. The message that appears says that the app is not configurated correctly. Could anyone help me on that?
February 23, 2018 at 08:13
Maria Balobanova

Hi Joan, sorry to heat that! These online apps are developed on MS Add-in Developer Platform, which Microsoft seems to be actively upgrading at the moment. So some performance inconsistency is to be expected. But there is nothing much we can do from our side right now.

You are welcome to download our desktop add-in. It also has the Popup Calendar and much wider functionality.

simon After i installed XLTOOLS and when i open it the spreadsheet doesnt open up. its just blank.
February 12, 2018 at 10:02
Maria BalobanovaHi Simon, do you mean you can't find XLTools tab? In this case please activate manually: Excel > File > Options > Add-Ins > Select ‘Manage ‘Com Add-Ins’ on the bottom of the box > Go > Check the box ‘XLTools Add-in for Microsoft Excel’ > Ok. If this doesn't help, try reinstalling XLTools add-in.

I have to go to  Options > Add-Ins > Select ‘Manage ‘Com Add-Ins’ and enable the add-in everytime i open a new workbook. When i save a workbook that i have used the above process to enable XLtools, and reopen it, i have to go through the whole process again. Help please

Hi Brian, looks like the add-in did not install properly. Please uninstall XLTools, download again and follow the setup wizard. Hope it helps! Otherwise, we'll try to find a different solution.

LauraIn the old free version of XLTools I was able to select Data Cleaning, click the 'select all data' button (between column A and Row 1) and then just hit Apply and my data would be cleaned. What is the best way to quickly select all data to be cleaned since this way no longer seems to work?  I have Essentials 5.0.0.764
October 27, 2017 at 17:42
Maria Balobanova

Hi Laura, thank you for reporting this! Indeed, after the recent update automatic range selection in the Data Cleaning tool does not work properly. We will try to fix it asap. In the meanwhile try selecting the table the usual way - select any cell in a table > Ctrl+A to select the range > apply Data Cleaning tool.

Dan HHi, When trying to commit changes made to our worksheet, the following error is presented: "An unknown error occurred: Out of present range. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8002000A (DISP_E_OVERFLOW))" No new log entry is added to the Versions History, but a copy of the worksheet can be found in the revisions folder. This happens when running 32-bit Excel 2013 on Windows 7. The workbook is fairly large (~30 mb). XLTools works just fine on a new, empty workbook. Any idea what might be causing this? Any help appreciated! Dan

RiyasI have installed XLtool UnPivot Ad in . But all tool seems Disabled. Can you please suggest me how to Activate it
February 5, 2017 at 08:04
Maria BalobanovaHello Riyas, The Free Trial should start automatically. If it did not happen, please open XLTools tab > Click the License button > Click the Free Trial button. This should enable all functionality, including the Unpivot table. Activating a trial requires Internet connection, though. So I have emailed you the free trial license key just in case. Hope you'll find XLTools useful for your tasks!

Maria BalobanovaHi Baiju, Seems that your browser security settings are blocking XLTools from proper installation. Please try the following: 1. Temporarily block browser security settings: Clear security options temporarily or add an exception: Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet options > Security tab > Trusted sites icon > Sites button > paste "https://xltools.net/" > Add. Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet options > Advanced tab > Clear Warn in changing between secure and non secure mode > Then reboot your PC. 2. Install XLTools again: Open Internet Explorer > Click Ctrl + F5 (this should clear cache in your browser) > Download XLTools > Save file > open This PC\Downloads > Find the ‘XLTools.exe’ file you have just saved > right-click and ‘Run as administrator’. > After installation bring the security settings back. Please let me know how it goes!
